Huatulco is a perfect destination for snorkeling thanks to its crystal-clear, calm waters, which make it easy to dive in and closely admire marine life such as colorful fish, corals, and reefs.
This activity can be enjoyed by people of all ages, both adults and children, as long as they are in suitable physical condition. For greater safety, it is best to do the activity accompanied by a certified lifeguard guide, who will provide assistance and supervision throughout the experience. The cost for each snorkeling set is $250 pesos, and it can be rented at La Entrega Beach or El Maguey Beach, or directly from the boat used for the activity.
The best beaches for snorkeling are: La Entrega Beach, El Órgano, La India Beach, Chachacual, Cacaluta, and El Maguey.
La Entrega Beach
La Entrega Beach is widely recognized for its calm, crystal-clear waters, which allow excellent visibility of fish and the reef, making it one of the most recommended beaches for snorkeling in Huatulco.
On the same beach, snorkeling equipment rental services are available in different sizes to properly fit each person, ensuring greater comfort and safety.

There are several ways to book a snorkeling service. One option is to arrive on your own by land and rent the equipment directly at La Entrega Beach, which offers the flexibility to enjoy the activity at your own pace.
For greater convenience, you can book a tour where transportation picks you up at your accommodation and takes you to La Entrega Beach, where you have the option to go snorkeling and enjoy the beach. The guide will be attentive at all times to ensure you have one of the best possible experiences. In addition, there are restaurants where you can stop to eat and enjoy the ocean view.
El Órgano Beach
El Órgano Beach is an unspoiled beach, characterized by its calm, crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling in a natural and uncrowded setting.
It can be reached both by sea and by land. By sea, it is possible to arrive on a shared catamaran tour; before booking, it is recommended to confirm whether the route includes El Órgano Beach. There is also the option of a private boat tour, where you can decide whether you wish to stop at this beach to enjoy the activity with greater flexibility. Additionally, one advantage is that the boat staff can rent snorkeling equipment to you.

Land access is a bit more challenging, but it is perfect for those who enjoy hiking. If arriving this way, transportation drops you off on the highway, and from there you take a trail of approximately 25 minutes to reach the beach.
It is important to note that there is no equipment rental at Playa El Órgano, so it is recommended to bring your own snorkel gear or rent it in advance in Santa Cruz or in downtown La Crucecita. This will allow you to enjoy the experience more comfortably and without setbacks
Chachacual Bay
In Chachacual Bay there are two pristine beaches: Chachacual Beach and La India Beach, ideal for snorkeling thanks to their crystal-clear waters and the richness of their reefs. Access is only by sea, which helps preserve their natural environment.
To visit them, you can reserve a spot on a shared catamaran, which makes a stop at this beach to snorkel and enjoy the beach. There is also the option of taking the tour on a private boat or private yacht; in any of these options, you can rent snorkel equipment from the boat’s crew.

If you choose a private service, you will have the advantage of freely managing your time and deciding which beach to visit, adapting the experience to your interests and preferences
Cacaluta Bay
Cacaluta Bay is a pristine bay located within Huatulco National Park, ideal for snorkeling. It can be accessed both by sea and by land. By sea, it is also recommended to book a private boat tour or a private yacht tour. From the boat, it is possible to enter the water directly and approach the island where the reefs are located, an area that concentrates a greater variety of colorful fish and marine life.
Because Cacaluta Bay has stronger waves compared to other beaches in the region, it is highly recommended to do the activity accompanied by a certified guide, who will ensure a safer and more suitable experience to fully enjoy snorkeling.

By land, as with El Órgano Beach, access is from the highway where transportation drops you off. From that point, it is necessary to walk along a trail of approximately 30 minutes to reach the beach.
It is important to bring your own snorkel equipment in advance, as there is no rental service available in the area. Likewise, it is recommended that visitors know how to swim or, alternatively, use a life jacket, especially when moving toward the area near the island, where marine life and reefs can be best appreciated.”
Playa Maguey
El Maguey Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Huatulco, known for its calm, crystal-clear waters. It can be reached both by sea and by land. Most boats make a stop at this beach, as it offers restaurant services and is ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Snorkel equipment can be rented directly on the beach or, if arriving by boat, it is usually provided on board

Snorkeling can be enjoyed at any of the beaches mentioned above, as each one offers different characteristics and attractions. As a recommendation, when visiting pristine beaches it is important to bring food and plenty of water, since they do not have restaurant services. Likewise, it is suggested to do the activity accompanied by trained personnel, as there are no lifeguards on these beaches.
On the other hand, beaches such as La Entrega and El Maguey are more crowded and have greater infrastructure and services, making them more accessible and suitable for all types of visitors.
